ABOUT US
Lighthouse Centre for Culture and Education (LCCE) is a non-profit organisation established in 2005. We are a group of professionals from different religious, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Our goal: to develop, organize and carry out projects that will mainly address problems of discrimination, human rights violations and unjust acts, with special focus on dialogue between cultures, minority issues, racial and religious equality. Our head office is situated in Vienna, Austria, but the team of people involved in our project comes from many different countries. At the moment people working with us, mostly as volunteers, are dispersed over four continents, helping us realize six different projects.

At present, Lighthouse Centre for Culture and Education is concentrating all its energy and resources on the problem of discrimination and exclusion of the Roma minorities in the countries of Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe. While there are many cultural and educational institutes and agencies around Europe and the World that focus on monitoring the situation, organizing discussions, and bringing resolutions to the current position of Roma, very few of them are working on programmes that will make the life of the Roma minorities in these countries any better. LCCE offers a refreshing set of challenging and intellectually stimulating programmes. We believe that the support received from the Austrian Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the British Embassy in Vienna, universities in Serbia, Hungary and Romania, and a number of non-profit organisations in the region bear testimony to this.
